HarmonAid
Harmonaid's vision is to create a space for free creativity and emotive expression through supervised exercises such as songwriting, poetry, song creation and hands on recording opportunities, facilitated by a music industry professional.
Purpose
HarmonAid was founded in order to provide a joyful escape for children who have a love for the creative arts. Songwriting has the power to channel one’s most inner thoughts. From fear, to hopes, personal triumphs, and all in between, songwriting has proven to be a successful tool of expression and a coping mechanism.
Mind-Music Connection
HarmonAid’s approach focuses on tailoring immersive music exposure to the patient and ultimately, their mental wellbeing whilst in a hospital setting. This approach is not meant to replace existing music therapy services. Rather, HarmonAid helps to promote the expression of self through music creation opportunities.
About The Founder
Bay area native Natalie Dean has been a musician for a decade, a recording artist and a producer. She attended The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney. There, she obtained a first class honors degree in songwriting and music production.
Whilst in the UK, she joined forces with Nadine Page, a champion for mental wellbeing and the Director of The Creative Well, a globally recognized and awarded organization.
In 2022, Natalie obtained a scholarship from the Audio Engineering Society and We Are Moving the Needle, supporting upcoming female audio engineers. Natalie has been a BMI affiliated songwriter for 5 years and specializes in heartfelt, emotive music composition.
Natalie’s passion for music started with songwriting as a way to escape her home life and realities. Reserved and quiet as a child, songwriting gave her heart a voice and her mind a release. She hopes to use her skills to provide the same feeling for others who may respond to music creation.
